In this article, we are testing out the Thermarest Polar Ranger sleeping bag, Nemo Tensor Extreme pad, Nemo Switchback Insulated pad, MSR E-Bivy in cold winter conditions in Northern Canada. The layout was the following:
- Packed snow with snowshoes
- Tyvek sheet
- Nemo Switchback insulated pad
- Nemo Tensor Extreme Pad
- MSR E-Bivy
- Inside the E-Bivy we put the Thermarest Polar Ranger sleeping bag
The temperature was recorded outside using my Thermometer at -22C (-8F) but temps fluctuated between -20C to -30C after 2 hours lying inside the sleeping bag wearing a minimal base layer, temp inside the sleeping bag was recorded at +22C. Watch the details of the experiment below.
