The Lammings have been logging on Bell Mountain since 1943, so the logging roads were getting higher regularly. Glen Stanley and Brian Bechthold blazed a trail from about 6 km up to the timberline around 1955. The trail wasn’t used much because pretty soon the logging road went higher, around both ends of the third bench. Marvin Lamming and others pushed a cat road through to timberline and made a ski lift to the top of Little Belle, and that was used for a while.
The 42 km Belle Mountain Equine trails are managed by the BackCountry Horsemen of BC – Robson Valley Chapter (developed between 2018 and 2023).
