In the 1980’s, this area was called Hill Lake Falls, and there was no mine shaft. Patti Martin met the 2 fellas who dug the mine, but can’t remember their names. One man was a salesman at a Chevy dealership, and the other had a strong French accent. This was a Garnett mine, according to Jared Fritz.
Calvin Stubhington had the mining shaft under the falls, according to locals.
