Jarvis Lakes Trip: July 2025

Gerald and I spent a lot of time in Kakwa Provincial Park in the summer of 2025. In July we spent 5 days backpacking from Bastille Creek to Kakwa Cabin, on to Jarvis Lakes Cabin and finally up to the pass above Moonias Lake, looking down at Faye Lake (this is part of the Great Divide Route aka GDR)

Shangri-la Trip: August 2025

Near the end of August, a great weather window opened up the opportunity for a multi-day trip into a lesser-known part of the park (described by the Mountaineer Chris Goulet as the best part of Kakwa aside from Mt Sir Alexander itself) called ‘Shangri-la’
