Dave King shares that a guide outfitter had a cabin at Pass Lake for several years and was hunting the Fang basin as well as the Farm areas. According to Mike Nash, George Evanoff is likely the first person to get eyes on the trail and have it developed up to the meadows. Mike first went up the Farm with George in the early 1980s for a four-day snow cave camp, a trip that led, from our conversation during that trip, to the discovery of Fang Cave later that year.
The original Farm Trail Cabin in the McGregor Mountains (east of Prince George, BC) was built and established by local outdoor enthusiasts, often credited to early members of the local hiking community, including George Evanoff. The cabin and trail, which began in the 1970s, was initially maintained in partnership with the McGregor Wilderness Society, and in recent years by the Prince George Backcountry and Rec Society (pgbrs.org)
