Paradise Ridge was so named by Everett Monroe and is west of the Sunbeam ecological area above the town of McBride, BC. If you hike to the ridge above Sunbeam and then hike west along the ridge, you would reach Paradise Ridge in a few hours. In the winter photo below, Sheilagh Foster has labeled some of the creeks west of Sunbeam. Paradise Ridge is the one above Tumbledick Creek. The life of Everett Monroe is documented in the book ‘Everett Monroe: The Legend and the Life’.
During the war, Everett Monroe built the Paradise Valley Cabin (1942) as a place to survive the winter. For full details, get a copy of Sheilagh Foster’s book below.
Shortly before Everett built the Paradise Valley Cabin, he built the trail leading up into the meadows, at one point using a CAT to build the road partway up the trail, which (the road) is still obvious to this day.
