Over the past several years, residents from the surrounding area worked on a trail that starts at the Heart Lake campgrounds in Lemoray Provincial Park. This trail starts near campsite #13 (lucky 13) and winds its way up onto Solitude Mountain. Originally, the trail started on the southeast end of the lake and was much steeper to climb, but today the trail is maintained by BC Parks, and a trail sign indicates its starting point.
Most campers are likely to hike the first 2 km to a set of viewpoints that look over Mountain Creek, offering outstanding views of the area.
The summit area is known to contain several caves, which only experienced cavers should approach.
